Turbulence compressibility reduction with helicity

A numerical test of isotropic turbulence compressibility reduction with helicity in a cyclic box is performed. The ratios compressibility-relevant-mode spectra over those kinetic energy present power laws at large wavenumbers the dissipation range, indicating common difference 11/15 exponents algebraic prefactor nonhelical helical ones. Our results being not derived from shapes themselves, implied information about effect on complex singularities discretized dynamical system can be reasonable value for insight Navier–Stokes equation, though high-order finite scheme used computation may as accurate range state-of-the-art incompressible pseudo-spectral method. Possible applications controlling flows, purpose of, say, decreasing noise, are also discussed according to spectral fluctuations.
